Antique Photographs City of Lawrence paddle wheel Steam Ship

Item # 4784

Antique Photographs City of Lawrence paddle wheel Steam Ship. This antique collage of photographs measures 37 and one quarter inches wide by 33 inches tall. There are photographs of ten men that surround the photograph of the paddle wheel steam ship. These men could have either been business men from The City of Lawrence or perhaps owners or crewman of the vessel. We think they are the captain and his crew. These photographs are in very good condition and date most probably from 1860 to1880. The photograph of the steam ship show it at dock in Norwich CT with a few people on board and the city itself in the background. This came to us from a Mass. estate. The ship photograph measures 14 inches by 10 inches, the individual photographs of the men each measures 4 and one half inches by 6 inches. This steam ship was made by Harlant Hollingsworth on the Delaware River near Philiadelphia and ran between Norwich and New York between 1867 and 1907 when it crashed on the rocks and sunk.
