Vanderbilt Cup Racing Trophy won by Locomobile Co. 1908

Item # 3407

Vanderbilt Cup racing trophy won by Locomobile Company, 1908. These smaller trophies are quite rare. The Locomobile was the first American car to win an International race in 1908 and the company based in Bridgeport CT had reception where these small trophies were given out to commemorate the event and in 1909 the company used this trophy as a mascot for their car radiators. By 1910 the Locomobile company had given up completely on entering automobile races . This automobile memorabilia piece measures 4 and one quarter inches high and made by the Forbes Silver Company in quadruple plated silver.

Item # 3562

Antique Map Mare del Nort by Coronelli, This wonderful period antique map entitled "Mare del Nort" was done by cartographer "Vincenzo Maria Coronelli" in the 17th century. Copperplate engraved map on mould paper, preservation mounted on archival fabric.(1650-1718).. Coronelli founded the first Geographical Society in 1680, and was cartographer to the Republic of Venice in 1685. This antique map depicits the Atlantic Ocean and much of the American shore as it was assumed to be at that time.This wonderful map is in very good original condition and measures 18 and one half inches by 24 and three quarters inches. The frame it is in measures 31 and one half inches by 25 and one quarter inches.

Item # 3563

Antique map Taprobana Sri Lanka 17th century, This period antique map is entitled "Taprobana" which is now Sri Lanka. Taprobana (Sri Lanka), circa 1620. Very rare early copperplate map on mould paper, hand-colored. Engraved by Gerardus Mercator (1512-1594) after the original by Claudius Ptolemy (87-150). The frame measures 25 and one quarter by 24 and three quarters inches. The image measures 15 and five eighths by 15 and one eighth inches.
